Reading word boundaries
To convert reliably, this tool first splits your input back into individual words — breaking on spaces, hyphens, underscores, and the lowercase-to-uppercase transitions that mark word boundaries inside camelCase or PascalCase text (so userAccountName becomes user, account, name) — then rejoins those words using each format's own rules. That's also why acronyms in the input (like URL) get lowercased before being re-capitalized per format, rather than preserved as-is.
Frequently asked questions
What's the actual difference between camelCase and PascalCase?
camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (myVariableName), commonly used for variables and functions in many languages. PascalCase starts with an uppercase letter (MyClassName), commonly used for class and type names.
